In observance of International Youth Day, the Red Ribbon Club members of Wangkhao Government College (WGC) actively participated in a Marathon race held on August 12, 2023. The event was organized by NSACS (Nagaland State AIDS Control Society) and DAPCU (District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit), Mon, under the theme “Youth for HIV & AIDS.”
The Marathon race, covering a distance of 5 kilometers, commenced from the DIET Centre and concluded at the Local Ground in Mon. The race was flagged off by the esteemed Guest of Honour, Dr. Vezokholu Theyo, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Mon. The event witnessed the presence of Mr. Longnyim Tzudir, District Program Officer (DPO) of DAPCU Mon, who delivered the welcome speech. Additionally, Dr. T. Chandrasekharan, the Principal of WGC, expressed his gratitude through a vote of thanks.
A total of 20 students from Wangkhao Government College actively participated in the Marathon race. Their enthusiastic involvement showcased their commitment to raising awareness about HIV and AIDS among the youth.
