The Department of Political Science successfully coordinated an Experiential Learning session titled “Orientation on the Functioning of Village Council” in partnership with leaders from Totok Chingkhu Village Council on March 9, 2024, in Totok Chingkhu Village. This initiative was tailored for 6th Semester Political Science (H) students to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge acquired in the classroom and practical application, focusing on the Nagaland Village Council Act and its subsequent revisions. The program aimed to encourage active student engagement and cultivate essential life skills such as leadership, communication, and problem-solving, centered around the program’s theme.
All 21 students and 5 faculty members from the Department of Political Science actively participated in the event, resulting in a productive interaction with the village leaders. Totok Chingkhu Village leaders, including the Angh (King), Chairman, council members, and various GBs, wholeheartedly and candidly engaged in the program, contributing to its overall success.
