Wangkhao Government College Library was established in the year 1983 and was initially housed at the old building and then eventually shifted to its current building in the year 2019 (constructed under RUSA, MHRD Govt. of India). The library has adequate infrastructure to cater to the needs of the users.

9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Weekdays)
9:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Working Saturdays)
9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (during Examinations)
Closed on specified State/National Holidays and Sundays.
LIBRARY STAFF
The library is manned by a Librarian. He is assisted by one Assistant Librarian, two Library Assistant, and one library attendant.
JOB SPECIFICATION
- Librarian– Oversee the overall works and functioning of the library, technical processing works, library automation and all correspondences on library matters. Any other miscellaneous duties that crop up from time to time.
- Assistant Librarian – Circulation Section, technical processing works and other miscellaneous duties assign by higher authority.
- Library Assistant – Issue and return, accessioning and other miscellaneous duties assign by higher authority.
- Library attendant – Oversee visitor’s entry, shelving, Xeroxing and other duties assign by higher authority.
- Teaching staff are allowed a maximum of 10 issues during an academic year.
- Periodicals are for in-house purpose and cannot be loaned out.
- Books lost, defaced or damaged in any way will have to be replaced by the borrower.
- No book shall be retained by the students, during the university exams.
- Use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited in the library. It should be switched off or kept in silent mode.
- Internet facility in the library is to used for academic and educational purpose only.
SERVICES
- The library provides access to e-resources through e-ShodhSindhu N-LIST program and other open e-resources.
- Internet Wi-fi facility is available for the students and faculty of the institution for educational purpose.
- Reprography services are provided on payment of nominal charges.
- Common Reading room.
- Facility of power backup.

The committee comprises of the following members

- Librarian – Member secretary
- Two Senior faculty – Members
The term of Serial no 1 and 2 are permanent members by designation whereas Serial no 3 can be on rotation basis after a fixed tenure.
BUDGET, PURCHASE AND ACQUISITION
The budgeting is done mostly by the Library Development Committee from the amount collected as students Library Development Fee at the time of admission. For books, the list of requirements are sought from the respective departments through the HOD’s taking into consideration the needs and position of funds available. The order is then placed with publishers by the librarian.

RULES
- The Library Membership card is a must for all library transactions.
- Users should keep their belongings in the property Shelves before entering the library.
- All patrons must ensure to enter their details on the respective attendance registers while entering the library for statistical purpose.
- Students are allowed a maximum of two issues for a period of one week at a time and can be renewed only once after the expiry if further required. Late fines will be realized after the due date.
